Pisces is the twelfth and final sign of the Zodiac. I painted this painting with NO plan to paint an astrological sign. I was really going for a couple of koi fish swinging in a pond, trying to lean into the illustrative aspect of many Japanese paintings that I like. While painting it three people asked about the “Pisces Painting.” I could have gone two ways with this. I could have named it “Dumptruck” and thew it in the face of the Pisces crowd, or I could name it what I did and celebrate wordplay.
